Replacing a double front door
This home was fitted with a double front door. Although this symmetrical style can look good, it isn't always functional. In this client's case, the doors didn't let any light in and there was really no use for having two front doors. They selected a new, single, front door and let Your Trusty Toolbox install it.
Our team first had to take out the old doors and the old door frame. When that was cleared, we could install the new door frame, side windows, and a beautiful new door. The windows, or sidelights, on each side of the door help maintain the original symmetrical look without the double doors and allow some light to enter into the hallway.

Installing new windows, window trim and shutters
This home has lovely shutters around the windows that the homeowner wanted to keep. We carefully removed them and put them to the side to restore and reattach later. Six windows needed to be replaced, so after the shutters were removed, we took out the old windows. We inspected the window frames and made some small repairs and adjustments before fitting the new windows.
Once all the windows were in, our team carefully installed new aluminum trim around all the windows. This helps seal the windows, waterproof the home, and it also looks good.
Then it was time for the finishing touch: the window shutters. Our team cleaned, sanded and repainted all shutters before hanging them back on the walls. The finished look is neat and clean.
