Door Removal Before & After

When you buy an established house, the layout may not always be the way you want. Melanie was tired of seeing her bathroom at the end of her hall. Since the bathroom could also be accessed from the adjacent bedroom, the door wasn’t needed. She reached out to Your Trusty Toolbox for help.

Let Us Help
Removing an Interior Door and Frame

After reviewing the situation and removing the door, our team continued to pull off the door frame. We then reframed the opening, added insulation and covered it with sheetrock. The client liked the look of it, so our team finished the wall on both sides, filled in holes, and then painted it.

After it dried, we noticed that the seams weren’t perfectly smooth, so we did another round of sanding and filling to make sure they were perfectly flush.

With the floorboards and molding in place, there’s no sign that there ever was a door, which is exactly what Melanie wanted.
